More about Edline Reports

Homework Assignment IDs

Homework assignments in your Edline report will have IDs like “1HW04″ or “3HW08.” This code identifies the grading period and, more importantly, the homework assignment number, a number that corresponds to the Homework Assignment #s used on this website.  “3HW08,” for example, identifies Homework Assignment #8 from Grading Period #3; “1HW04″ identifies Homework Assignment #4 from Grading Period #1.

Pay special attention to these ID #s in your Edline report! If you have a Homework grade that isn’t what you expected, refer to your Class Page to see what the Homework assignment in question involved. If you feel that the grade is in error, see me immediately.

Grading Codes

When you view your Edline grade report, you may see codes that aren’t immediately self-explanatory:

  • NTI = “Not Turned In” :: the assignment was due but not received.  (Some credit may still be possible; see the codes below.)
  • HL = “Half: Late” :: only half credit was awarded because the assignment was turned in late.
  • QL = “Quarter: Late” :: only 1/4 credit was awarded because the assignment was turned in very late *or* was turned in both late and incomplete.
  • 0L = “Zero: Late” :: the assignment was unacceptably late; no credit was awarded.
  • M = “Missing” :: the assignment is missing, but for a valid reason. Usually this means you were absent when an in-class assignment was given; you should see me to schedule a makeup as soon as possible, because “M” codes do adversely affect your grade!
